Clement, you should consider keeping a garden diary like your grandfather did, for the generations to come or for subsequent Chateau owners . You could also use modern technology to your garden diary by including photographic records. Maps of the chateau grounds might help in telling the story of your garden design.... will you include strawberries, kiwi(on the rock wall perhaps), and even blueberries to your fruit garden.

I totally understand your reasoning for moving into the coach house as we've lived thru a home restoration from ceiling to floor and everything in-between. Definitely NOT a safe or sanitary place for children! EVERYTHING is always covered with a fine layer of dust EVEN IF you close off the room you're working on. Very SMART of you to think ahead, finish the coach house and move in before resuming work on the chateau. I also understand a bit about leg injuries. I had a knee injury with a deep gash that required inside and outside stitches for a total of 31, and another leg wound years later that wouldn't heal and required deriding. I pray that Marc doesn't have complications with his leg.🙏 IF Marc develops redness, swelling, trouble breathing, and/or coughing up blood, get him help immediately! My knee injury caused major swelling and a Pulmonary Embolism (PE), which is a blood clot that traveled from my leg and lodged in my lung. Leg wounds are notorious for blood clots. I don't want to scare you, but forewarned is forearmed. IF a clot lodges in your lung, you can't breath, thus PE. If it lodges in your heart, it causes a heart attack, and in your brain, a stroke. PLEASE pay close attention to Marc's symptoms! Through my experiences, I learned a diet of meat and veg (protein and greens) helps tremendously in the healing process. I'm assuming Marc has to cover his leg while bathing. I wore a rubber shower boot. It was a pain in the who-know-where, but it kept my leg dry, and it was easier to use rather than wrapping my leg with plastic wrap (Saran Wrap in the US). You can find shower boots on Amazon. Again, I will keep you guys in my prayers.

Saying a prayer for you both. Try lavender essential oil around the injury, not on the cut. This oil is antibacterial, antiviral, antieverything bad! The oil gets into the blood system and is carried to the site of injury. ❤

The consistency of the paint is important for stencilling. It can't be thin. I was shown using oil sticks, but found that even fabric paint works. Use a toilet roll to wipe most of the wet paint off your brush (stiff-bristled ) and dab on to your wall.

I hope by now Marc is in nearly full recovery. Your telling of how it happened was excellent & thanks so much for the Château renovations update. ❤

Hinesight is 20 20 for sure. my hindsight having done similar is always cap a low metal post like that. It happens so quick.
